The Indianapolis Colts have declined to renew Malik Hooker's fifth year contract option. That means Hooker can become an unrestricted free agent after the 2020 season is completed. The former Buckeye safety was the Colt's first round choice in the 2017 draft. Hooker has alternated between brilliant play and being hobbled by injury. The NFL and its collective bargaining agreement salary caps can be a cruel mistress. Here's hoping Malik stays healthy and can prove his value going forward.
