Ohio State athletes worked hard in the classroom this year.

A total of 489 Ohio State athletes earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2023-24. That number paced the conference and contributed to the 2,271 athletes who received the award this year.

For spring and at-large sports, 262 Ohio State athletes earned Academic All-Big Ten honors, marking the second year in a row the school had that number of representatives receive the award. Those Buckeyes join the 103 winter athletes and 124 fall athletes who previously earned Academic All-Big Ten honors following their seasons.

To earn Academic All-Big Ten honors, an athlete must have been a full-time student for at least 12 months and earn a GPA of 3.0 or better. The conference also recognized 13 Buckeyes from spring or at-large sports for earning a 4.0 GPA this year: Katelyn Abeln (pistol), Irina Cantos Siemers (women’s tennis), Faith Choi (women's golf), Sam Hackenbracht (softball), Hadley Hartmetz (women's hockey), Justin Howard (men's volleyball), Sean Kaminski (men's track and field), Quinn Kuntz (women's hockey), Abbie Leverett (pistol), Justin Sherrer (men's lacrosse), Jacob Snyder (men's lacrosse) and Tess Thompson (rowing).

Ohio State's record for Academic All-Big Ten honorees in one year is 552. The Buckeyes reached that mark in the 2021-22 academic year.
