After taking the league by storm as just a true freshman, Ohio State's D'Angelo Russell was unsurprisingly rewarded Monday evening with a first-team all-Big Ten selection.

Russell was the Big Ten's second-leading scorer at 19.2 points per game. He also led the Buckeyes in rebounding (5.6 per game) and was second on the team in assists (5.2 per game).

Russell was joined on the first team by Wisconsin's Frank Kaminsky, Indiana's Yogi Ferrell, Iowa's Aaron White, Maryland's Dez Wells (coaches) and Maryland's Melo Trimble (media). Kaminsky was named Big Ten Player of the Year.

The All-Big Ten second team included Michigan State's Branden Dawson, Penn State's D.J. Newbill, Wisconsin's Sam Dekker, Purdue's A.J. Hammons, Wells (media) and Trimble (coaches).

Third-team All-Big Ten selections were Michigan State's Travis Trice and Denzel Valentine, Nebraska's Terran Petteway, Wisconsin's Nigel Hayes, Maryland's Jake Layman (media) and Iowa's Jarrod Uthoff (coaches).

Russell is the 11th All-Big Ten first-team selection under head coach Thad Matta.
