Despite a 36-33 lead going into the half at Purdue, the Buckeyes fell to the Boilermakers 75-64, suffering their third straight Big Ten loss and falling to 4-3 in the conference and 12-8 overall.
Kam Williams had 14 first half points but didn't score in the second half for Thad Matta's Buckeyes and a trio of starters (Keita Bates-Diop, Trevor Thompson and JaQuan Lyle) finished with a combined seven points and seven rebounds, finishing a net -33 for the night. Ohio State fought hard but couldn't withstand an interior onslaught in the second half from AJ Hammons and Caleb Swanigan and a couple key late three-pointers at Mackey Arena.
Ohio State is back in action next Monday night, January 25th, at home against Penn State.
