Numerous former Ohio State stars could be on the move this week as NFL free agency begins.
Former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, running back J.K. Dobbins and defensive end Chase Young are among the most notable Buckeyes who are set to hit the market on Monday at 4 p.m., when NFL teams are allowed to begin negotiating with free agents. Several other former Buckeyes, such as Joey Bosa and Dre’Mont Jones, are already on the market after they were released by their previous teams last week.
In total, 25 players who completed their college careers at Ohio State and were with NFL teams last season will be on the free agent market as it opens. The full list of Buckeyes who are set to become free agents can be found in the table below, which we will update as each of them sign new contracts.

Seven Buckeyes Ranked Among Top 100 Free Agents
Seven former Ohio State players are ranked among ESPN’s top 100 free agents entering the start of free agency: Joey Bosa (9), Justin Fields (28), Chase Young (38), J.K. Dobbins (47), Josh Myers (55), Dre’Mont Jones (74) and Baron Browning (88), who has since re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals rather than hitting free agency.
NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal listed six Buckeyes on his list of this year’s top 101 free agents: Fields (19), Myers (35), Young (39), Bosa (57), Dobbins (63) and Browning (73).
Browning, McCullough Sign Contract Extensions
Two former Ohio State players who would have become free agents on Monday instead signed contract extensions to remain with their current teams.
Outside linebacker/edge rusher Baron Browning agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals, who made the move to re-sign Browning after trading a sixth-round pick to the Denver Broncos to acquire Browning last November.
Sources: The #AZCardinals are bringing back pass-rusher Baron Browning, as they are in agreement on 2-year deal. After trading for him, Browning sticks.

The Atlanta Falcons made a long-term commitment to Liam McCullough, who’s been their long snapper since 2022, by signing him to a four-year contract extension on Thursday.
God is good, Jesus saves. Grateful for every opportunity the Lord has brought me, for new relationships, renewed relationships, and for the family, friends, and teammates that enable me to do what I do. Joey Bosa Released by Chargers

Joey Bosa became a free agent for the first time in his NFL career when he was released by the Los Angeles Chargers after nine years with the team.
It’s been heavily rumored that Bosa will join his younger brother Nick with the San Francisco 49ers. Tim Kawakami of the San Francisco Standard reported Sunday that “good conversations” are taking place between Bosa and the 49ers.
Meanwhile, I've heard Joey Bosa and 49ers are having good conversations and this feels like it's headed toward a deal.

Nothing is done, but the Bosa brothers want to be together and probably will get there this year. Which likely means this will be a moderate deal + incentives.
The Miami Dolphins also reportedly have “strong interest” in Bosa, per The Athletic’s Dianna Russini.
While the idea of playing with his brother Nick in San Francisco appeals to Joey Bosa, he is expected to garner strong interest from the Dolphins, per source.

Jonah Jackson Traded from Rams to Bears

Before the start of free agency, one of the Buckeyes who landed a big contract in last year’s free agent market was traded to a new team as the Los Angeles Rams traded former Ohio State offensive lineman Jonah Jackson to the Chicago Bears in exchange for a sixth-round pick, one year after signing him to a three-year, $51 million contract.
