After missing the past three games, Eugene Brown is back in uniform for the Buckeyes on Sunday.
The sophomore guard suffered a blow to the head in the second half of Ohio State's Nov. 18 loss to Xavier, and did not play in the Buckeyes' subsequent contests against Seton Hall, Florida or Duke while he went through concussion protocol.
Brown was cleared to return to action against Penn State Sunday, a team spokesperson told Eleven Warriors, and his presence could help bolster the wing depth of a team that remains without senior forwards Justice Sueing and Seth Towns. Sueing is out indefinitely with an abdominal injury, and Towns is expected to return at some point in December after undergoing a procedure on his back over the offseason.
Through his first four appearances this season, Brown is averaging 3.5 points per game, with a career-high 12 scored against Bowling Green on Nov. 15.
Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann missed this past Friday's practice with a non-COVID-19 illness, but Holtmann will coach the Buckeyes against the Nittany Lions Sunday. Holtmann is "feeling fine," according to a team spokesperson.
