Justin Ahrens is leaving Ohio State.

After four seasons in Columbus, Ahrens will finish his career elsewhere as he is entering the NCAA transfer portal and will leave Ohio State.

Specializing in three-point shooting, Ahrens averaged 4.8 points per game this season, playing an average of 20.1 minutes a game. He finishes his Buckeye career with a .392 three-point shooting percentage and shot better than 40% from beyond the arc in both his sophomore and junior seasons.

Ahrens participated in Ohio State's senior day ceremony at the end of the regular season, but he has one year of eligibility remaining after the NCAA awarded every athlete with an extra season of eligibility due to the season altered by COVID-19.

Ahrens is the first Buckeye to enter the transfer portal following the 2021-22 season, though both E.J. Liddell and Malaki Branham are entering their names into the NBA Draft. In all, Ohio State will be losing at least seven players from the 2021-22 team. That number could grow to eight if Branham remains in the draft.

Ohio State is bringing in a five-man freshman recruiting class featuring four players ranked among the top 61 prospects in the country. The Buckeyes also signed Wright State transfer guard Tanner Holden on Saturday.
