Last Friday saw no shortage of star power in Buford High School’s (Buford, Georgia) 39-27 victory over Mill Creek.
While Ryan Day and OSU safeties coach Perry Eliano dropped in during the off week to get a look at prospects on both teams, four-star 2024 Buford defensive end KingJoseph Edwards was especially appreciative of OSU stopping in to see him.
“I knew he was coming to the game,” Edwards told Eleven Warriors. “Seeing him there showed his support for me and my teammates. I’m very happy to have a good relationship with him.”
There are easily at least 20 Power 5 players on the field tonight. Probably six current or future 5-stars.

While Buford has gotten off to a perfect 7-0 start, it’s been a bittersweet feeling for Edwards, because he suffered a shoulder injury early on in the season and has missed several games. But the top-50 prospect’s conversation with Day helped put his mind at ease.
“I connected with Ryan Day on another level,” Edwards said of his conversation with Day after the visit. “I spoke to him about my feelings of getting hurt early in the season. He assured me this was a part of the process and I’d be ok.”
Edwards visited OSU on Sept. 3 for the season opener against Notre Dame and loved his experience. He said he plans to take a return trip to Columbus later in November.
“I plan to come back down for the game against the team up north and I’m very excited about that,” Edwards said.
Reaction from Ian Moore’s commitment
In case you missed it earlier on Thursday, Ohio State landed its second commitment in the 2024 class in four-star offensive lineman Ian Moore. That’s surely bound to make five-star 2024 quarterback commitment Dylan Raiola happy.
Moore made the decision to commit to OSU this week and based his choice on the proximity to home, OSU’s culture and coaching staff.
“Every time I would try and compare a school, I'd always compare it to Ohio State,” Moore told Eleven Warriors. “And every time I'd see something that this one school did, I'd be like, ‘Ohio State didn’t do that’ … I just kept circling back to there's no point, I know where I want to go. So I've known for probably a couple of months now.”
Following the top-100 prospect’s commitment, reactions poured in on social media from Ohio State’s football staff and fellow commitments alike. A collection of celebratory tweets from the OSU community is compiled below.

Georgia visiting Wilson Friday
Ryan Day and Larry Johnson started their off week by taking a trip to Florida to visit five-star priority defensive end target Damon Wilson, who was coming off an official visit to Georgia. In the days that followed, all the momentum in Wilson’s recruitment shifted back toward Ohio State, with speculation circulating that a decision isn’t far off.
This week, it will be Georgia making a late push for Wilson, as head coach Kirby Smart and Bulldogs outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe plan to visit his school Friday, according to On3.
According to the report, Wilson has still not yet made a decision on his recruitment, but it could materialize in the not-too-distant future. It remains to be seen if OSU can continue to hold serve as the current leader in Wilson’s recruitment.
