Ohio State has targeted a new cornerback in the 2025 class late in the recruiting cycle.

Tim Walton offered three-star Georgia cornerback Jordyn Woods on Sunday, as the Buckeyes still hope to add a third cornerback this cycle.

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Woods is considered the No. 1255 prospect and the No. 117 cornerback in the 2025 cycle. Woods holds 11 Division I offers, including Cincinnati, Boston College, Michigan State and Virginia. He’s been a Cincinnati commit since June 25.

Woods has been in contact with Walton for a few weeks now and visited OSU for the Nebraska game on Oct. 26. He could return to campus sometime this season for an official visit.

To address the elephant in the room, this late offer to Woods has more to do with Ohio State’s belief in Woods than making a contingency plan if the Buckeyes lose Na’eem Offord to another school. OSU would take Woods regardless of what Offord ends up doing, but it doesn’t hurt to have another solid option if indeed you do need to replace the talented five-star cornerback.

For now, Walton will continue aggressively recruiting Woods as we get closer to National Signing Day in early December.

In 10 games for Cartersville High School (Cartersville, Georgia), Woods has recorded 38 total tackles, three tackles for loss, three pass deflections and two forced fumbles.

Luke Brewer picks up offer from Ohio State

Woods wasn’t the only prospect to pick up an offer on Sunday. Ohio State tight ends coach Keenan Bailey extended an offer to promising 2027 Iowa tight end Luke Brewer, making him the sixth tight end OSU has offered in that cycle.

Brewer doesn’t hold a composite ranking as of yet, but holds 12 Division I offers, including from the likes of Georgia, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State, Tennessee, Toledo and Wisconsin.

Rodney Dunham includes Buckeyes in top eight

A top pass rusher in the 2026 class has narrowed down his recruitment. Four-star North Carolina defensive end Rodney Dunham released a top eight Monday consisting of Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Duke, Florida State, Notre Dame and South Carolina.

Dunham is considered to be the No. 45 prospect and the No. 5 edge prospect in the 2026 class. He was offered by OSU on Oct. 3, so the Buckeyes are still establishing a strong rapport with the 6-foot-4, 225-pound talent.

Carsyn Baker puts OSU in top 13

*Takes a deep breath.*

I know, I know, nobody gets all that excited to read about a recruit’s top 13 schools. But we’ll briefly run through four-star 2026 Georgia running back Carsyn Baker’s loaded list regardless.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Baker released a top 15 Sunday consisting of Ohio State, Louisville, Penn State, Ole Miss, Pitt, Miami, South Carolina, Auburn, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Tennessee, USC and Alabama.

Baker is rated the No. 329 prospect and the No. 26 running back in the 2026 class. He earned his Ohio State offer following an impressive recruiting camp performance in June, leading running backs coach Carlos Locklyn to offer him a scholarship to play for the Buckeyes.
