- Sayin appears to be the leader in the QB race after today. Had a strong performance in the first half. Very natural thrower, with a nice, quick release. Plenty of beautiful throws with nice touch. Put together some very nice drives. Lincoln was off at the beginning of the game, but came into his own and played quite decently. His accuracy wasn’t great and he’s not the most natural thrower, in contrast with Sayin. But he’s plenty athletic and his legs were on full display. Rough first half for TSC, but give the DBs credit – they made a couple of great plays. Second half he looked much better. Absolute rocket of an arm. Very athletic. Not quite sure he’s really in this QB race, but a lot to be excited about for the future.
- Mylan Graham looks elite, very polished. Great feet. We have so many weapons on this offense, but it'd be a shame if Mylan doesn't get some solid PT this year.
- RB room looks promising. Donaldson looks noticeably slimmer and showed good burst. Bo had quite a few nice plays, showing off his very evident talent. He will play a big role on this team this year. Don't think I saw much of Peoples, actually. Might have missed it – was he ruled out for today? SWD might wind up as RB3.
- TEs will (or at least, should) feast this year. Klare looks like the real deal. We know what Kacmarek and Bennett can do with their blocking. Jelani Thurman hype not yet dead? Had a few big gains. Looks plenty athletic. Perhaps has a connection with Sayin?
- OL looks strong and deep. Most excited I've been about our OL in quite a while. They were absolutely mauling for significant portions of the game, allowing the RBs to break away for big runs.
- DL is still a work in progress, but felt like the unit got better as the game progressed, and showed that they were able to create some pressure. Got dominated by the OL at times, particularly in the run game. Logan made some plays and looks like he has quite the motor. Will certainly contribute this year. Grady should push for PT, too.
- Fielding had a convincing performance today. I believe he made all his field goals.
