Former Ohio State defensive end Sam Hubbard and wide receiver/special teams ace Elijaah Goins were accepted in the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society, the organization announced Wednesday.
Hubbard and Goins were two of 40 footballers lauded by the university for academic excellence at a banquet Monday night.
Ohio State nominated both players for the Society. To gain access, a player must have completed their final year of playing in 2017, achieved a cumulative 3.2 GPA and met all NCAA-mandated progress towards degree completion.
In its 12th year, the society accepted an all-time high 1,251 players from a record-tying 302 schools.
