Ohio State's schedule for the 2024 season is complete.
The Buckeyes will host Western Michigan at Ohio Stadium in 2024, an Ohio State spokesperson confirmed Thursday.
According to report by Tony Paul of the Detroit News, Ohio State will pay Western Michigan $1.8 million for the game. The Broncos were originally scheduled to play Cincinnati in 2024, but will now play the Buckeyes instead after paying Cincinnati a $500,000 buyout.
Per Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch, Ohio State’s game against Western Michigan will be played on Sept. 21, 2024. Ohio State is also set to host Southern Miss on Aug. 31 and play Washington on the road on Sept. 14 before beginning its Big Ten schedule for the 2024 season against Illinois on Sept. 28.
The game will be just the second matchup between Ohio State and Western Michigan, who previously played at the Shoe in 2015. The Buckeyes defeated the Broncos 38-12 in that game; current Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck was Western Michigan's coach at the time.
With Western Michigan added to the schedule, Ohio State’s football schedules are now full through the 2025 season.
