Ohio State will pay tribute to Dwayne Haskins in multiple ways during Saturday’s spring game.
Ohio State players will wear “DH” stickers on their helmets during Saturday’s spring game, which will also feature a pregame moment of silence and a halftime video tribute for the former Ohio State quarterback, who died on Saturday when he was hit by a truck.
The memorial dedicated to Haskins at the north rotunda of Ohio Stadium will also remain in place through Saturday’s game.
Ryan Day said Thursday that he thought it was important for Ohio State to use Saturday’s game as an opportunity for the team and Ohio State fans to remember Haskins together.
“It'll be nice to have Buckeye Nation together for this event on Saturday to celebrate our team and the hard work we put in this spring, but also to get everybody together to honor Dwayne,” Day said. “And I think that's appropriate. So there's gonna be a lot of excitement, but also a lot of moments in the day that will be deep thoughts based on just our memories with Dwayne and playing in that stadium.”
Saturday’s spring game is scheduled to kick off at 12:05 p.m. and will be televised on Big Ten Network. The first three quarters of the game will each 12-15 minutes long with clock stoppages, while the fourth quarter will be 10 minutes with a running clock. Halftime will be 12 minutes long and feature a performance from TBDBITL in addition to the Haskins video tribute.
The game will be played as an offense vs. defense scrimmage, with the offense serving as the Scarlet team and the defense functioning as the Gray squad. Ohio State has not yet announced a scoring format for the game.
Spring game tickets are available for $7 and can be purchased through Ohio State’s official website. Fans who wish to avoid paying service fees can purchase tickets on Friday, which will be a “no-fee Friday.”
