Last month at Big Ten Media Days, Ryan Day said he expects Jim Knowles and Ohio State to produce a top-10 defense this season.
When Knowles met with reporters on Tuesday, he took it one step further.
“I wish he would have said top five,” Knowles said. “That's our expectation.”
So too did Teradja Mitchell.
“My standard and the way we work, I feel like we should be aiming for No. 1,” Mitchell said. “That's the goal ... the way we work and how hard we work, obviously if you can work hard, you might as well go for the top spot.”
Knowles also gave glowing reviews of linebackers Tommy Eichenberg and Steele Chambers and addressed various questions surrounding the Buckeyes defense heading into the Sept. 3 opener against Notre Dame, and you can see what he had to say in the video above.
