The flurry of midseason awards for Ohio State continues.

On Thursday, Ryan Day was named to the midseason Dodd Trophy watchlist, becoming one of 20 Division I coaches to receive that honor.

The Dodd Trophy, named after former Georgia Tech football coach Bobby Dodd, is given to the head coach who has success on the gridiron while also stressing the importance of scholarship, leadership and integrity.

Besides Day, other coaches nominated for the award include North Carolina's Mack Brown, Air Force's Troy Calhoun, James Madison's Curt Cignetti, Washington's Kalen DeBoer, Mizzou's Eliah Drinkwitz, Duke's Mike Elko, Iowa's Kirk Ferentz, Michigan's Jim Harbaugh, Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman, Tulane's Willie Fritz, Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin, Florida State's Mike Norvell, USC's Lincoln Riley, Alabama's Nick Saban, Texas' Steve Sarkisian, Georgia's Kirby Smart, Oregon State's Jonathan Smith, Oklahoma's Brent Venables and Utah's Kyle Whittingham.

Coaches named to this year's midseason watch list were required to have their teams at an Academic Progress Rate of 965 or higher.  Additionally, coaches in the first year with their current teams were not included as they are ineligible to receive The Dodd Trophy until their second year with their program.

Winners of the past few seasons have included Willie Fritz (2022), Luke Fickell (2021), Pat Fitzgerald (2020), Kyle Whittingham (2019) and Brian Kelly (2018).
