The Buckeyes are on site for their College Football Playoff quarterfinal showdown with Oregon at the Rose Bowl.
Ohio State flew to Los Angeles and checked into their hotel for a four-day business trip, as both quarterback Will Howard and linebacker Cody Simon put it as they met with the media shortly after the team walked off their bus from the airport on Sunday night.
"We're trying to treat this like a business trip. This is not a normal bowl trip," Howard said. "We're not here to necessarily go sightseeing or check out the city or anything. We're here to win a football game."
Simon expressed excitement to take part in the grand pageantry of the Rose Bowl, but like Howard, he's locked in on doing what it takes to prevail over Oregon.
"It's truly an honor," Simon said. "I didn't get to play in the last one (when Ohio State played Utah in the Rose Bowl), so for me, I want to take in the moment but also be ready to do my job and do everything we need to do to get a win. But obviously, I understand the importance of this game and the history around it. It's great to be out here."
