The national champs received their second on-campus salute in as many days during Monday night’s Ohio State men’s basketball game at the Schottenstein Center.
One day after celebrating its national championship in Ohio Stadium, the Ohio State football team was at the Schottenstein Center on Monday night to be honored during the first half of the basketball Buckeyes’ home game against Iowa.
After a brief video honoring the team was played, Carnell Tate and Jermaine Mathews Jr. hoisted the national championship game and Rose Bowl trophies above their heads to the cheers of the fans in attendance, after which Sonny Styles, Caleb Downs and Luke Montgomery each gave an “O-H!” to the crowd.
“Let’s run it back next year, baby, here we go,” Montgomery said.
You can watch the full video of the recognition in the video at the top of the page.
Before the game, Ohio State fans had the opportunity to take their picture with the national championship trophy and/or receive autographs from Ohio State defenders Caleb Downs, Jermaine Mathews Jr. and Sonny Styles, both of which prompted long lines of Buckeye fans around the concourse.
