Mike Hall Jr. received a $250 fine, two years of probation and a suspended 30-day jail sentence on Thursday after pleading no contest to disorderly conduct.
The former Ohio State defensive tackle was sentenced on the reduced misdemeanor charge on Thursday after he was initially arrested and charged with domestic violence in August. Hall will not have to serve jail time unless he violates his probation.
Per the arrest report, Hall was accused of dragging his fiancée along the porch and driveway of their home and pressing a gun against a temple. WKYC reported on Aug. 21, however, that Hall’s fiancée had recanted the allegation that Hall held a gun to her head. According to The Athletic, Hall’s fiancée was present during the hearing in Avon Lake Municipal Court on Thursday but chose not to speak.
Selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns, Hall was placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt list before the regular season and did not play in the Browns’ first two games. While Thursday’s sentencing resolves the criminal charge against him, the NFL could still suspend Hall for violating its personal conduct penalty.
