Ohio State is 7-1 after 10 weeks of the 2024 college football season. The Buckeyes have defeated Akron, Western Michigan, Marshall, Michigan State, Iowa, Nebraska and then-No. 3 Penn State. The last of those victories occurred this past weekend, a 20-13 win in State College. The team's lone blemish, a 32-21 loss to then-No. 3 Oregon, occurred on Oct. 12 in Eugene.

Ohio State is ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll and Coaches Poll. The Buckeyes are No. 1 in SP+ and No. 2 in ESPN’s College Football Power Index. That latter metric states that Ohio State has the No. 5 strength of record and No. 19 strength of schedule in college football this season. The Buckeyes' remaining schedule – which includes Purdue, Northwestern (at  Wrigley Field), No. 8 Indiana and Michigan – ranks No. 23 in the sport.
