Ohio State is adding a former Penn State offensive lineman to its support staff.
Wendy Laurent, who played for the Nittany Lions from 2012-16, is reportedly joining Ohio State’s staff as an analyst, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Laurent has been the tight ends coach at Dartmouth for the past three years, also serving as the Big Green’s associate head coach in 2024. He was previously a graduate assistant at Penn State in 2020 and 2021 after starting his coaching career as an offensive line GA at Buffalo.
Laurent played in 34 games for the Nittany Lions from 2013-16, starting eight times at center in 2014 and 2015. He was a teammate at Penn State with new Ohio State quarterbacks coach Billy Fessler, who was a quarterback for the Nittany Lions from 2014-17.
He’s one of three new support staffers for the Buckeyes with offensive line experience, joining former Power 4 offensive line coaches Marcus Johnson and Charlie Dickey, whose hires were also reported Wednesday by Zenitz. While it’s likely Dickey and Johnson will work primarily with the offensive line and new offensive line coach Tyler Bowen, Laurent could be a candidate to help newly promoted co-offensive coordinator Keenan Bailey coach Ohio State’s tight ends after Sean Binckes, who worked with the tight ends last year as a graduate assistant, took a job as an offensive assistant with the Las Vegas Raiders alongside former Ohio State offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.
Dickey, Johnson and Laurent join Bowen and defensive coordinator Matt Patricia as new members of Ohio State’s staff for the 2025 season.
