Jantel Lavender can now add one more accomplishment to her storied basketball career: WNBA Champion.

The former Buckeye women's hoops standout won her first WNBA title Thursday night as her Los Angeles Sparks downed the Minnesota Lynx 77-76 to clinch the best-of-five series in game four.

Lavender is arguably the greatest women's basketball player in Buckeye history. By the time she left Ohio State, Lavender owned the school's all-time scoring record as well as the Big Ten's all-time rebounding record and its record for points in a single season. She was also the first player – male or female – to be named Big Ten Player of the Year four consecutive seasons and became just the second Buckeye to earn three first-team All-American honors.

Lavender was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks before the 2011 season and has played for the team for the duration of her pro career. The championship this season is the first of her career and the first WNBA Title for the Sparks in 14 years.

Buckeye nation took to the Twitterverse to congratulate Lavender on the accomplishment.
