Ohio State’s leading scorer from last season is headed to Ole Miss.
Cotie McMahon, a first-team All-Big Ten selection each of the last two seasons who led the Buckeyes with 16.5 points per game in 2024-25, committed to Ole Miss on Thursday, two weeks after she entered the transfer portal.

After expressing frustration with Ohio State following its second-round NCAA Tournament loss to Tennessee, McMahon joins a team that advanced to the Sweet 16 this past season before losing to No. 1 overall seed UCLA.
A Centerville, Ohio, native, McMahon was a three-year star for the Buckeyes, averaging 15.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for her Ohio State career. She earned first-team All-Big Ten and AP All-American honorable mention honors for each of the past two seasons after winning the Big Ten Freshman of the Year award in 2023.
McMahon brings one year of eligibility to Ole Miss.
She’s one of two Buckeyes who have entered the transfer portal since the end of the season along with reserve center Faith Carson, who has not yet signed with a new team. Ohio State has not yet made any transfer additions for the 2024-25 season, though it reportedly hosted former Boston College guard T’yana Todd for a visit on Wednesday.
