Welcome to the Skull Session.

Here's some #Truth:

Have a good Friday.

BUCKEYES TO WATCH? This week, Lathan Ransom made another appearance on The Bobby Carpenter Show with Anthony Schlegel. At the end of the interview, Schlegel asked Ransom to name Buckeyes he's excited to see take a leap this offseason.

Ransom's answers?

Linebacker Arvell Reese, wide receiver Mylan Graham, safeties Malik Hartford and Jaylen McClain and nickel cornerback Lorenzo Styles Jr.

"There are so many positions that are up for grabs. There are a bunch of dudes competing. There's a long list I could go through, but I'll name a couple of guys," Ransom said. "Arvell Reese, he changed his number to No. 8 now so I can't wait to see him ball out in that No. 8. Mylan Graham is another one. I think Mylan is a great receiver. We got to see him a lot on the scout team (last year) and every day we would always talk about how good he is. He has the potential to be a really great receiver in a loaded receiver room.

"That safety battle, man. There's nothing more – I can't wait to watch to see who that other safety is gonna be. I love both of them dudes (Malik Hartford and Jaylen McClain), and I think, regardless, whoever plays that safety spot is gonna be a baller, and I think has the potential to do a lot of great things. The corners, the nickels, I can't wait to see them ball out. Zo is the most confident dude I know in the world. Having him go out there and fly around and compete, I'm excited to watch it. I'm excited to watch them all."

I'm excited for all those Buckeyes.

But Mylan Graham?

A five-star receiver under Brian Hartline's guidance?

Oooooooooooweeeee.

Thank you, sir. May I have another?

"A DREAM COME TRUE." Graham has drawn several comparisons to former Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson. I think it's mostly because he wears No. 5, but I'm sure there are other reasons, too.

At the 2022 NFL Combine, Wilson told reporters he would love to reunite with former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, then the lead signal-caller for the Chicago Bears.

“If that would happen, that would be awesome,” Wilson said. “I haven’t really thought about where I’d be playing. Anywhere would be a blessing. Definitely, to link back up with Justin–and to do that on the NFL level – would be a dream come true, for sure.”

Yet, a Wilson and Fields reunion wasn't in the cards... at the time. Chicago sent its 2022 first-round pick to the New York Giants as part of a package to select Fields No. 11 overall in 2021. The Jets selected Wilson No. 10 overall in 2022.

Three years later, however, the reunion will happen, as Fields signed a two-year, $40 million deal to lead the Gang Green offense.

The Jets hope to revitalize Fields' career with a familiar receiver, one to whom he completed 66 passes across 22 games in 2019 and 2020. Wilson converted those catches into 1,031 yards and nine touchdowns.

(That's still one of the greatest catches I've seen from an Ohio State receiver, and that includes some miraculous ones from JSN, Marvin Harrison Jr., Emeka Egbuka and Jeremiah Smith.)

Fields and Wilson are comfortable with each other on the field. They also admire each other off of it.

“Even when we thought we weren’t going to have a season (in 2020), he kept the spirit up and always kept us prepared to go,” Wilson told ESPN in 2022. “He made sure the receivers were getting their work in. When the season came around, and we got to play, I felt like it came together really well because of those reasons.”

Fields and Wilson are two of four Buckeyes on New York's roster entering 2025. Jeremy Ruckert was the Jets' third-round pick in 2022 and will enter his fourth season with the franchise this fall. New York also signed Josh Myers to a one-year, $3.5 million deal this offseason.

"STREAMING IS NOT GOING AWAY." In his appearance on WOSU's All Sides with Amy Juravich, Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork did more than back Jake Diebler after his first season as the Buckeyes' basketball coach.  He also addressed the football team's annual presence on Peacock, NBC's subscription-based streaming service.

"There's some angst around that and the availability of it. How do you sign up for it?" he told Juravich.

Angst is a good word. Frustration is, too.

Frustration has been so prevalent in Ohio that Sen. Bill DeMora introduced Senate Bill 221 in September. The bill seeks to ban public universities from "entering into these horrible streaming exclusivity deals and require that any game being streamed exclusively is free to access by students on campus." DeMora's bill is still in committee.

Bjork acknowledged that availability is one of several complaints fans have for Peacock.

"I think some of their production can get better," Bjork said. "We're working on that."

Despite Ohioans' distaste for Peacock, Bjork communicated that his hands are tied as the Big Ten signed a billion-dollar media deal with FOX, CBS and NBC that runs through 2031.

"Streaming is not going away," he said.

Still, Bjork wants FOX, CBS and NBC to treat Ohio State with the respect it deserves as a media goliath.

"I do think the brand of Ohio State should be valued differently," Bjork said.
