Tied at 7-7 after an opening half that saw Ohio State and Penn State combine for 10 punts and a turnover on downs, the Buckeyes used an electric 21-3 run in the 3rd quarter to pull away and eventually record a 35-23 victory tonight in Happy Valley.
Ryan Damn Shazier got things started with a pick six of Matt McGloin on PSU's opening possession of the 2nd half and shortly after a Nittany Lion field goal, Braxton Miller capped back-to-back touchdown drives with one-yard runs – one of them the sickest one-yard run in CFB history – giving the Buckeyes a commanding 28-10 lead they would not relinquish.
The defense played well when it needed to behind a nice run-stopping night from Zach Boren, another spirited effort from Shazier and an outstanding night in coverage from Bradley Roby.
The offense was led by Braxton's 279 total yards and three touchdowns.
Nine and oh, y'all.
