Iowa's Adam Woodbury just can't stop poking players in the eye.
From old friend of the site Kyle Rowland, now of JournalGazette.com:
“Coaches are notorious for making excuses for players, and there’s no excuse for what this guy is doing out here,” [ESPN' Dan] Dakich added.
Mad is a mild way to label McCaffery’s response. He said the former Indiana assistant was “completely out of line” as he defended his 7-foot-1 center.
“There’s absolutely no way Adam Woodbury did that on purpose,”[Iowa coach Fran] McCaffery said. “(Dakich) crossed the line. He is out of line. He’s not right, it was an accident. Adam Woodbury would never, ever, ever do that.”
Jim Jackson, during a bit of analysis on BTN the other day, said hand-in-the-face tactics is a touchstone of good defense. He did note, however, the league (and McCaffery) needed to discuss the issue with the center.
Is this the most B1G storyline of 2015? Maybe.
