Jim Hackett's College Football Take is the Best Administrator Take in Years

Remember when Michigan hired and employed Dave Brandon for years? Those were quality times, my friends.

But Michigan interim-AD Jim Hackett is on the clock now, and honestly, it's hard to argue with his fireside takes in Max Cohen's MichiganDaily.com piece:

“I don’t want to sound sarcastic,” Hackett said. “What I don’t want is more entertainment that’s not football. I think that works in the pros, but we’re in college. I believe college shouldn’t be like the pros. It shouldn’t cost like the pros.”

Hackett specifically noted that he didn’t want the games to feel “corporate,” a complaint that was commonly voiced by Michigan fans during Brandon’s tenure.

It's easy to talk a big game, but I will admit I've always been impressed with Michigan Stadium's lack of advertising. Because it's one thing to just talk about things, but it's another to give-up advertising revenue streams.

Will other athletic directors take heed? I'm not holding my breath.
