A good general doesn't eat before his troops, nor does he enjoy any benefits not bestowed upon his lowest of infantrymen.
It appears Pat Narduzzi is a good general.
From Sam Wener of Post-Gazette.com:
And that bonding hasn’t stopped. In a change from previous years, all 105 Pitt players will stay in Sutherland Hall in August to emphasize the “camp” mentality. Previously, players just lived in their normal residences during training camp.
They won’t be the only ones there, either. Narduzzi (for the entirety) and a rotating cast of assistants also will stay in the dorm with them.
“I’m staying in the dorm with them to get around them more, to see how they live, see what type of music they’re listening to in the evenings, what are they eating, those types of things,” Narduzzi said.
That's a way to earn the respect of your players, for sure.
