Kyle Flood, already a convicted rules-breaker, appeared without an answer during Saturday's 49-7 hiding at the hands of No. 1 Ohio State.
This, compounded with Flood's 27-20 record and other off-the-field problems, would be enough to fire a lot of coaches at a lot of schools.
But this is Rutgers we're talking about.
From NJ.com:
Julie Hermann declined media requests in the days after Kyle Flood returned from his three-game suspension, but following a groundbreaking ceremony Saturday the Rutgers athletics director expressed "support'' for the Scarlet Knights football coach.
"I have one job everyday and that is support my student-athletes, that's to support my coaches,'' Hermann said. "I support Kyle and my football team everyday and we're totally focused on it.''
I'm sure other coaches will be thrilled to hear this; they must love Flood controlling the only in-state "power" in a budding recruiting hot bed like New Jersey.
