Move over Steelers and Patriots, the NFL is now officially recognizing individual, coaching, and team records from the AAFL in their official records.

This puts the Browns total championships at 8, with 4 coming from the 1946-49 AAFL days and 4 coming from their transition to the NFL in which they won 3 in the 50s while making 8 straight championship games (now 12 in a row counting the AAFL) and won another title in 1964, making 4 championship games in the 60s.

The Packers hold the all time lead with 13 titles. The Bears follow with 9.

The Browns are now tied with the Giants for third with 8 championships.

Given the immediate and sustained success of Paul Brown and the organization upon joining the NFL this seems reasonable. 

Now if it could just translate to the modern version of the franchise.
