Once upon a time, parents were forced to pay their own way to watch their son play in the big game. The College Football Committee announced a $2500 stipend program for parents in 2015, and it will continue it this year as well.

From collegefootballtalk.com:

The College Football Playoff announced Monday it will continue to provide a $2,500 stipend for up to 125 families of players on teams that participate in this year’s two semifinal games and championship game.

Last year, the College Football Playoff distributed $1.5 million to parents/guardians of student-athletes to aid them in travel, accommodations and food expenses for the two semifinal games in the Dallas and Miami areas, and the championship game in the Phoenix area.

Hard to argue with that. Let's hope it's Buckeye parents cashing in on it when the time comes.
