The Big Ten is back.

Nearly a decade after much of the college football punditry had written off the conference for dead, the league had four teams appear in the top 10 of Monday's AP Poll for the first time since 1960.

Ohio State held firm at No. 2, as did Michigan at No. 4, with Wisconsin moving up three spots to No. 8 and Nebraska sliding up two spots to No. 10.

The league did have four teams ranked in the top 10 of AP's preseason poll in 1999 (No. 3 Penn State, No. 8 Michigan, No. 9 Ohio State and No. 10 Wisconsin), but the last time the Big Ten featured four teams ranked in the top 10 of a regular season AP Poll in 1960, eventual champion Minnesota topped the poll, with Iowa, Ohio State and Michigan State also appearing in the top 10.
