Alabama just lost its coach Mick.
Kirby Smart pulled off a quite a heist from Nick Saban's staff, poaching longtime Alabama strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran, who's been with the team since 2007.
Cochran now joins the Georgia staff in an on-field capacity, serving as the team's special teams coordinator.
This ends a 13-year stint where Cochran was considered by many the second-most vital member of the Alabama staff, behind only Nick Saba, much like Mickey Marotti at Ohio State.
Cochran's been there since 2007 and is up on the jumbotron yelling during Alabama games, it's not a little thing

oh and and he's also the guy who said 2008 Georgia was wearing black "cause they're going to a fucking funeral" at 1:00 here https://t.co/P6uwza687r
From AL.com:
Famous for his thunderous “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah” chants, Cochran has long been credited as a huge reason for Alabama’s success, running the program’s “Fourth Quarter Program” and working closely with players throughout the year.
“I don’t think there’s any question. He’s second in line,” former Alabama offensive lineman Mike Johnson previously told ESPN. “If Coach Saban is the father of the program, (Cochran is) the stepdad.”
And he isn't just leaving Saban's staff, he's leaving to coach under one of Saban's former assistants at an in-conference rival. That has to sting.
