Phil Lynott fronted the hardest rocking band to ever come out of Ireland. Born today in 1949, Lynott is best known as the singer and bass player for Thin Lizzy. Despite being one of the best bands of the 1970s and influencing future stalwarts like Iron Maiden, Metallica and Def Leopard, Thin Lizzy has not been inducted into the Rock and Roll of Fame. Lynott died in 1986.
