A priority Ohio State running back target in the 2026 class is visiting Columbus yet again this weekend.

Four-star Ohio running back Favour Akih announced he’s making his third trip to Ohio State this spring this weekend, indicating that the Buckeyes continue to have plenty of momentum with the Delaware product.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Akih has narrowed his recruitment down to Ohio State, Miami and USC, and while he has strong relationships with the Miami staff, we like where the Buckeyes sit in this race so far. Akih has official visits set up to all three schools for this summer, but it isn’t out of the question he makes a college decision before then.

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Akih is considered the No. 206 prospect and the No. 15 running back in the 2026 class. Akih ran for 1,653 yards and 15 touchdowns while catching nine passes for 142 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games last season.

Richard Wesley visiting Columbus on Friday

Larry Johnson and Ohio State will have a chance to impress one of the top defensive ends in the 2026 class.

Five-star standout Richard Wesley announced he’ll be visiting Columbus on Friday and also has visits set up to Texas A&M and Tennessee over the next few weeks. He just came off a visit to Texas last weekend.

Johnson and OSU offered the California prospect on March 3. Four days later, Wesley reclassified from 2027 to the 2026 recruiting class. Before he reclassified, he was considered the No. 2 prospect in the 2027 cycle. Based on the 247Sports composite, he’s considered the No. 20 player and No. 3 edge in 2026.

This will be Wesley’s first visit to Ohio State, so making a good impression is key if the Buckeyes want to attempt to add the 6-foot-5, 250-pound standout to their 2026 class.

Last year, Wesley recorded 44 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, nine sacks, eight quarterback hurries, two pass deflections, a fumble recovery and three forced fumbles.

Deuce Geralds includes OSU in his top 10

Following his visit to Ohio State on Tuesday, four-star Georgia defensive lineman Deuce Geralds teased an announcement Wednesday on his social media. Geralds did indeed make a recruiting announcement, but it’s not quite as exciting as a potential commitment would have been.

The 6-foot-3, 265-pound prospect released a top 10 consisting of Ohio State, Clemson, Oregon, LSU, Florida State, Oklahoma, Miami, Michigan, Georgia Tech and Ole Miss.

More importantly than the schools update, though, we’re told the visit with Geralds and Ohio State on Tuesday went very well and the Buckeyes continue to stand out to the No. 63 prospect in 2026.

It’s very likely he’ll take an official visit to Columbus at some point this summer.

Storm Miller commits to Texas A&M

In a move that was a bit out of nowhere, four-star Ohio linebacker Storm Miller is off the board. The four-star Strongsville resident committed to Texas A&M on Wednesday, picking the Aggies over a handful of Big Ten options, including Ohio State.

With Miller pledged elsewhere, Ohio State will pivot to other options. Some of those include Cincere Johnson, Tyler Atkinson, CJ Sanna, Jacob Eberhart and CJ Sibley.
