Friends are coming into town for the Purdue gaming (15-20 people).  They're staying at the AC Marriott near the arena, just off High St by the Short North.

A friend living there told me "Every bar turns into a club down there."

I find this hard to believe.

What we're looking for is an after dinner meetup spot, that's NOT a club, but has a good vibe for people in their 30s/40s can meet up, get some drinks, enjoy somewhat of a social/fun vibe, before maybe going some place else, or just staying there all night.  Some place comfortable but not a dive.  

Quite often hip restaurants have these types of bars.  For whatever reason my friend said "I can't think of any place."
