For those who may not know (don't tell me your level of caring, my fragile ego can't take it), Huey Long was a wildly popular politician in Louisiana during the Great Depression. I will not elaborate further, as that would violate The Code.
One of his most lasting acts was to make LSU into an actual university of note. To the point where he recruited athletes, wrote songs, and paid students to attend football games. In essence, LSU doesn't win SEC titles without Huey Long.
Though long dead, Long's legacy carries on as it has been revealed that the Louisiana state government will be donating settlement money from a recent lawsuit to NIL funds of 6 universities in Louisiana. Over 80% of that money will go to LSU's NIL collective.
If the state government starts getting involved seriously in NIL funds, then just hold your small dollar donations. None of us are going to compete with that. Billionaires be damned.

I for one am going to be fascinated when the frivolous lawsuits from an AG start hitting, for small dollar settlements that go directly to an NIL fund.
I don't care who you are, the new state of college football is anything but dull.
