Start blaming the onions or dust or whatever and grab a tissue because this one will get you. Five years ago a star high school player from Indiana, Josh Speidel, was in a car accident and ended up in a coma for five weeks. He had a severe brain injury and the doctors said if he recovered, he would likely never be able to read above a fourth grade level. Josh had a scholarship to Vermont and his entire life ahead of him. That could have been where the story ended. Lucky for us all, it’s not. Josh will be graduating from Vermont this year with a 3.4 GPA. So much for the doctors’ warnings. And while his basketball career may not have ended up like he hoped, tonight he scored his first collegiate points. Definitely watch the video. You’ll be glad you did:
Well done Josh. We could use more moments like this in our lives. Or at least I could.
