I was thinking about this question this morning and I was interested in the collective opinion of the group. Obviously, this idea is pending the BIG 10’s inevitable decision to voluntarily shout themselves in the foot, but if only the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 play this fall, does that open the door for a team like the fightin’ Fickles to make the playoffs for the first time ever if they have a good season? Or is it inevitable that the committee just piles up additional unworthy SEC teams? Personally, while I hate what’s happening to us, I’m jonesing for some college football. It’s my favorite thing to watch in the world, so I’ll still be tuning into games this fall, and I’d love to see a real underdog get a legit shot at some of the big boys, even if it ends up with then getting put down like Old Yeller. 

Side note: I’m looking for opinions on what could happen with the playoffs in this scenario. Please keep your “Fire Warren”, the “Big 10 sucks“, and “college football is ruined” takes out of it. And please feel free not to tell me how little you care. I’d rather this not devolve into another bitch-fest.
