Ohio Stadium has been a bit sleepy at points in 2024.

It's somewhat understandable given that the Buckeyes haven't played a ranked opponent at home, with their top-five matchups against Oregon and Penn State both coming on the road. But on his weekly appearance for 97.1 The Fan's Buckeye Roundtable show, Day called for the Horseshoe to be the loudest it's ever been.

"This is a big weekend for all of us and it's a big weekend for our fans. ... When they're loud, it makes a huge difference and it's going to make a difference in this game,” Day said. “This has got to be a hostile, angry environment. We've got everything on the line this week. ... We're gonna be practicing with an edge, we're gonna be playing with an edge this week. And I know that when Buckeye Nation shows up in that stadium, they're going to have an edge. There's going to be an electricity in the stadium. And every time (the Hoosiers) have the ball, I mean, it's going to be loud, which gives our entire defense a huge advantage.

"Let's make it the loudest Ohio Stadium's ever been," Day continued. “That's what you want in November. You want it all on the line, you want a top-five matchup at home in November."

The Buckeyes' head coach also discussed the scarlet takeover at Wrigley Field against Northwestern, among other topics, in his first media appearance of the week.

  • On getting off to a fast start knowing that Indiana will try to throw everything at the Buckeyes: "It doesn't really change how you approach things. ... On defense, you've gotta hit blocks and you've gotta run and hit."
  • Day liked how Ohio State won the "middle eight" of the game once again at Northwestern: "It took us from 14-7 to 28-7. ... They controlled that first quarter but then I thought we settled down a little bit in the second quarter.
  • On how the offensive line has played: "We had a couple of guys run through on us, then we quickly made the adjustment there, and then I thought we had some things up much better there in the second half."
  • On Indiana schematically: "I think on defense, they do a lot of things. They have a lot of front, a lot of coverages. ... On offense, they have their wrinkles. They have their things they do, but they have wrinkles."
  • On the game at Wrigley: "A great experience for our players and coaches, the fans. ... One of those things you remember, playing in Wrigley and seeing so many Buckeye fans enjoying the game. ... Took over the stadium and it was pretty wild."
