B1G should schedule all Division games the first six weeks and inter division games for the last two weeks in case a game needs to be postponed. That way if a game needs to be cancelled it can be outside of the division and then you can base the Final Standings on Division games only. Also, for the Plus One week they should jigger it to avoid any rematches below the Championship Game.
