Apologies if I missed this yesterday, but didn't see if posted.
That update occurred this week on the administrative end of the 247Sports database. Several position designations were merged into others or changed to new titles. We believe the new projections will make for a noticeably more simplified approach. The total number of position designations shrinks from the previous number of 19 to 14 (both including athlete, kicker, and punter).
DUAL and PRO are now just QB
APB is gone, now just RB
OG and C are gone, now just OT and IOL (for guards and centers)
WDE and SDE are gone, now just EDGE
OLB and ILB are gone, now just LB
Honestly really happy with these changes. Having bigger buckets makes it easier to compare guys, and most fans don't really care if a guy is weakside or strongside edge rusher (and the players can always switch when the get to campus anyway)
