Objectivity in Interpreting a Teams Performance

I'm curious to know why when OSU beats Akron 59-7 & Rutgers 52-13 they're "peaking" & this season is "looking like 2014." But, when Georgia destroys Vanderbilt & Arkansas (who beat Texas soundly) 62-0 then 37-0 the response is "It's Vandy - they're no good, Georgia is overrated" or "They have no offense, it's just Arkansas. Their defense hasn't played anyone good." Not to mention that Georgia didn't have their starting QB.

I know this is an OSU message board but the inconsistency in arguments regarding a teams performance is almost comical. I just used Georgia as an example because they seem to be mentioned a lot but could probably throw any SEC team in there.

Take off the homer lenses - if a team whoops another soundly, they're probably a good team (even if they don't have an OSU jersey on).

Before you all attack me - I'm not saying everyone does this.

I'm a huge Buckeye fan myself but try & remain objective regarding performance, even if the argument doesn't benefit OSU.

What do you look for when trying to compare teams?
