That other thread is getting long in the tooth. Thought I'd look at possible candidates for DC from a stats perspective.
PER Defensive Ratings
- Georgia 94.93
- Cincinnati 95.88
- Iowa 106.19
- Washington 106.71
- Wisconsin 109.69
- Clemson 110.42
- NC State 111.42
- Penn State 111.98
- Texas A&M 112.00
- Oklahoma St 112.54
How about if Bob Gregory doesn't get the fulltime gig at Washington?
How about Tony Gibson from NC State?
Just outside the top 10 pass defenses is Houston (rated 13th). How about Doug Belk. Is from the Saban coaching tree and in his 3rd season with Houston
or Appy State's (14th) DC and LB coach Dale Jones.
My personal choice: Lance Guidry from Marshall University (rated 15th). has built successful Defenses at multiple schools; is just 50 years old. previously coached for 2 years at Miami (OH) and has twice served as interim HC for a couple of games.
