Coaches leaving for new jobs isn't anything new, but a few factors making what's happening in Oklahoma noteworthy:

1. Riley is well known as an offensive guru, so it's safe to say a lot of guys committed to him and not the university

2. Oklahoma is a blue blood by any definition, where this kind of thing really doesn't happen

3. They have an impending move to the SEC in a year or two.  They're heading into a meat grinder with no coach and recruiting classes crumbling.

The following people have now left the program:

Head coach, Defensive Coordinator, WR coach, Director of Ops, S&C coach

Former 5* Spencer Rattler has entered the transfer portal

2022 class: three 4* players have decommitted. They currently still have a commitment from a 5* RB from CA, so wait and see here.

2023 class: two 5* players and one 4* player have decommitted (notably, a lot of these guys are from SoCal, so they might be flipping any second now).  The top two kids remaining in this class are from CA, so uhhh....

For as sullen as we feel about our weekend, here's a good reminder that things could always be much, much worse.
