Opting out…I don’t like it but I get it if you are a high first round pick. It’s a part of the new college football. I feel it’s different if your elected and accept being a captain of your team. Many of the opt outs from various teams are listed as captains. As a captain, you are asking the players to let you lead them on and off the field for the whole year of the captaincy. I feel it shows questionable character to your team and university to suddenly bail on your promise to lead for personal gain when your team may have lost a few games and not lived up to expectations. You are either a leader in good times and bad for the full season or don’t accept the captaincy if in your mind you may be willing to contemplate leaving early. Agree or disagree? Go Bucks!
