If you don't like posts about Michigan, this forum post is not for you.

I have an old school obsession with our rivals up north, so I keep close tabs on them at all times. Besides, until this November, the schadenfreude is worth the price of admission.

For those who sometimes venture over to Mgoblog, you know a few things are true:

1) The site administrators are incredibly thin-skinned and get butt hurt all the time.

2) The interface is terrible and it's annoying as hell to navigate

3) When it comes to bad news, they do a lot of "lalalalala I can't hear you!"

But for a long time, Mgoblog has really been the main place for Michigan fans in the same way 11W is. Now, On3 has its own Michigan site - The Fort - (just like Lettermen Row is over there for OSU fans) and it's been interesting watching the Harbaugh stuff. First and foremost, The Fort totally crushed Mgoblog with realistic and well sourced coverage of all the interviews etc. Mgoblog was much more interested in covering a hockey game than getting into the mix on Harbaugh, and The Fort had real insight into what was happening behind the scenes.

Second, the fan activity on The Fort is just much more engaged than Mgo. (If you join Lettermen Row - which you should - you can access the other teams' sites, even though you can't post). I obviously don't know site traffic numbers, but I am betting that Mgoblog is going to start bleeding engaged users over to On3 based just on the last week and the difference in coverage and engagement.

Mgoblog has never had the quality of 11W in any way shape or form. And now it has real competition as the main engaged football fan site. Just as I enjoy watching TTUN take a beating, I am hoping I can enjoy the thin-skinned jackwads at Mgo gradually lose their market share, too.
