This topic just occurred to me. Right now the NCAA has player free agency through the portal. Players get paid. NIL money and playing time are big factors in player decisions. Collectives are becoming big participants in the NIL scheme. With the portal players can transfer to schools based upon (1) their perception of starting and/or NIL money to be gained, or (2) being reached out to by a school through a collective or well heeled booster with NIL money and some knowledge of a team's player needs.
IMO just a matter of time before we see "trades" being arranged by the collectives. "Hey, I've got a TE with a 25k per year NIL who is looking to move up in the depth chart and you just lost your starter. You have a DB we are interested in for 100k NIL. How about we get together and see if we can make this work?"
Does anyone else see some type of trading scenario developing? How would it work? Does anyone know if this has happened yet?
