In today’s poll question, 90% of more than 4,870 votes cast (as of this writing) had #3 TTUN @ #10 PSU as the game most likely to be watched (aside from MSU @ Ohio State, of course).
To date in 2023, only five games have averaged more than 9M viewers.
- 9/23: Colorado @ Oregon, 10.03M
- 9/23: Ohio State @ Notre Dame, 9.98M
- 10/21: Penn State @ Ohio State, 9.96M
- 9/16: Colorado State @ Colorado, 9.3M
- 9/3: FSU @ LSU, 9.17M
As a top 10 matchup between B1G East champion contenders, TTUN @ PSU would’ve likely generated big numbers, regardless. It’s only real competition in the noon time slot is #8 Alabama @ Kentucky. But with the cheating scandal and Harbaugh’s subsequent suspension adding multiple levels of intrigue, will it be the most watched game of the year (so far)?
I believe it will. I also believe 95% of those watching will be pulling for the Nits to beat the Twits. Count me among them as my second favorite team will always be whoever’s playing Michigan.
