The B1G has 4 teams now who could all conceivably get a playoff berth(we should all know who those are by now) , but I'm guessing only 3 will make the cut to make room for more SEC team berths. (Penn State has a cake walk the rest of the way and a one loss Indiana team won't likely get in, fair or not)
Right now, there are 6 SEC teams that I see could conceivably get a spot (one of Bama vs. LSU will be eliminated)
- Georgia
- Texas
- Texas A&M (unlikely, even if they win out, but a chance with a big win over Texas)
- Alabama (needs to win out)
- LSU (needs to win out, but they now have a "not so great" USC loss)
- Ole Miss (needs to win out)
- Tennessee (needs to win out)
I am going to go with 4.5.
With the ACC Miami and that weird SMU team that could give them 2 teams
One of Army or Notre Dame ( if either team wins out)
BYU in the Big 12 with ISU possibly holding on to mathematical chances
