For Ohio State Basketball, it seems that the prevaling wisdom has long been that despite the temendous resources the athletic department has, the focus on football means that they can never expect to see the cosistent sucess of basketball of top basletball first schools like Kentucky, North Carolina, or Kansas.  That idea makes sense on it's face, but then I see Final Four matchups like Florida vs Auburn and wonder why that shouldn't be the stanard for Ohio State basketball as well.  Alabama was in the Final Four last year and the Elite Eight this year.  Michigan has made it to at least the Sweet Sixteen in 6 of the last 8 NCAA tounraments.  Why can other big state schools that invest heavily in football also find the kind of success in basketball that seems to elude Ohio State?
